Preschool..

That's right, preschool!!! I talked with LaPetite today to fill them in on what is going on with Bella and to remind them that she would be out for the next two weeks due to our vacation.

Jessica, the Assistant Director, was thinking Bella would be back on Aug. 9th, nope she isn't back until Aug. 17th. Jessica got all excited and said, "Oh! Well she be starting preschool then in my class!!!" I just sat there and was totally baffled, PRESCHOOL??? I at least held off the tears until I got off the phone with her.

I know Bella is growing up of course. It was just shocking to me to think when we get back she gets no real transition, she will just be moved into a new class and be starting Preschool! This class will only have eight kids, that will be nice, but I'm sad she gets no time with her buddies in her EP2 class beforehand.

How do they grow up so darn fast??? We will explain to Bella that she gets to start in a new fun class after vacation, it's just so strange to me for some reason.

My little Bella, starting Preschool, she got to this point way too fast.

Bella And Another Strange Illness

Our little peanut started out having a temperature on Monday and I had to go pick her up from school. She hadn't pooped in about two days (I guess I could say "had a bm" and be proper ;)), so I figured her low temp was due to that. So Kyle and I split up Tuesday to stay home with her, she pooped in the am with me. She still wasn't feeling well Tuesday night so she got to go to Grandma and Papa's house on Wednesday, where she had a really big poop. The poor girl has terrible constipation problems, all of my nieces had this issue as well, it's strange.

My parents thought she was doing well, they even asked me to pick up some food to grill and have dinner with them. By the time I got to their house Bella had gone downhill fast. I took her to a walk in clinic, the nurse took her temp and it was 103.6!!! Then we had to wait 45 minutes because some damn drug addict was taking up all of the doctors time and they couldn't get him out of the building. It was torture, Bella screamed and cried every time I moved to adjust. So I'm sitting there with my baby who is extremely hot due to her high temp, we are both crying and I'm about ready to faint and go to the next room and tell this jackass to get out so the doctor can see my baby :(

Finally the doctor comes in, she doesn't have strep throat, no sinus infection or ear infection. So they get a urine sample, there is a small amount of blood in her urine but not enough to say it's a bladder infection. Now we have to wait for a culture on her urine, which takes 48 hours. In the meantime I've got one sick little girl and I'm frantically trying to figure out what to do with her since we leave on vacation for Oregon next week and neither Kyle and I can take off any time beforehand.

Thank god for my amazing, retired parents! My mom came this morning and picked up Bella to keep her overnight so they can watch her tomorrow too for us. I just can't stand seeing Bella like this, it's so frustrating when no one can tell me what is wrong with her :( She is on an antibiotic for now and I'm hoping she really does just have a bladder infection.

The worst part is that she lost some weight and is down to 26 pounds, if she gets down to 25 pounds we have to admit her to the hospital :( Thankfully she was super hungry last night so we just drove through Wendy's for dinner. She ate all of her chicken nuggets, french fries AND half of my cheeseburger, at least her appetite is returning :)

Together Again

I am so fortunate to have five amazing best friends from high school that work so hard for us all to be together once a year. I am truly blessed to have these women in my life and we've all married great men that have become good friends as well :)

There were some new additions to our group, two new baby girls, Kylie and Ava and a new baby boy Vance, added to the "older" kiddos Bella and Harrison. Bella and Harrison had never met before, they totally hit it off and had a great time playing together :)
Nikki, Lyndsey, Me, Steph, Lisa & Jenny
Adam helping Bella and Harrison with bags :)
Kylie, Ava, Bella, Harrison & Vance
Not sure on Bella's face, Harrison and Bella had a great time together :)

Bella's New Do

Bella has been wanting her hair cut and has been telling me wants it cut, "just like mommy's"! So I set up an appointment with our favorite stylist David Baker at Twin Images.

She sits so well for David, and feels so special when she gets to go to the salon, it's so much fun having these girl dates with her :) We didn't go as short as mommy, but took about 3 inches off.

She is such a big girl and I can't believe how much older she looks with her new haircut!!!!

Heart Check

Yesterday I had my 2 year check up with my cardiologist, have had 6 fainting spells so far this spring/summer so I'm back on the meds to help me retain salt, which helps me retain fluids. He looked at me yesterday and knew I was dehydrated, it didn't help that I had volleyball Sunday night and had to have sweated out about 2 gallons of fluids ;) I drank as much as I could Sunday night and Monday but it can never be enough.

Dr. Muellerleile still says I will grow out of my Neurocardiogenic Syncope eventually, his oldest patient is 52. I stumped him though with my two fainting spells that occurred while I was simply sitting down. So he wanted me to wear a Holter monitor for 24 hours. Of course I've had no spells, a bit light headed this morning but nothing major.

The worst part was going to pick up Bella. I wore a tank top yesterday so you could see the highest patch with the wire and Bella was worried. I told her it was just a special sticker my doctor gave me to wear for a day. She was really quiet and when we got to the car she just started sobbing. I asked her why she was crying and she told me she thought I was going to die :( It was so sad, it took so long to calm her down. I truly have the most emotional child, gee I wonder where she gets that ;)

She was much better this morning, checking my stickers to make sure they were still there and telling me to be very careful at work before I go to the doctor and have them taken off today :)

So the meds should help me get through the summers, if I have anymore fainting spells while on them I have to go back for a treadmill test, but we think I will be just fine. Again I'm supposed to stay away from stressful situations, hmmmm that's a bit hard for me when I seem to be surrounded by them ;)

RENT

Theater Cedar Rapids is back downtown and redone, it is so beautiful!!! They are doing a production of Rent right now and I got to go see it on Saturday night with Mindy and Leah. It was so amazing, I can't believe the amazing talent we have in Cedar Rapids and the surrounding areas!!! Honestly Mimi could have been better, she was way too sweet and needed to be dirtied up a bit ;)

We got all dressed up and had dinner at Gringos first, I LOVE that place, they have the BEST chimichangas!!! :)

I had a nice little surprise, the curl seems to have magically come back to my hair. Seriously, I have the strangest hair ever. I'm not complaining, I was very happy with it :) I just wish my hair could stick to one or the other, straight or curly!!

New Trend

Another DRY morning at the Griffin house, woo hoo!!!

I got up to take my shower and thought I heard Bella's door open, and there she was so proud of herself and ready to use the potty :)

All the "babyness" in our home is gone. Still have some diapers for just in case, but the fact that I don't have to buy them anymore is just wonderful.

Bella is such a big girl, I just can't believe it, she is growing up too fast but I honestly just love it :)

Proud Morning

Bella is mostly potty trained, she still wears a diaper at night and always has to wear her underwear over her diaper.

This morning I got her up and was getting her changed when I realized she didn't have a diaper on, I had forgotten to put one on her last night. The best part, she was DRY!!!!! My little Bells made it through the night with no accident :)

She was so very proud of herself, it was quite an exciting morning. We will be celebrating tonight by making a trip to Michael's and getting some fun new crafts. Now Bella is confident and ready to stop wearing diapers at night.

I'm so proud of my little princess!!!
