We've had a change in our household, a major change! My 17 year old nephew Zachary John Lawrence Koch moved into our house on Feb. 5th. We are hoping he will be truly happy with us and enjoy his time before he graduates high school in May and departs for the Marines in August.
I am blessed to have 98% support and only 2% very hard and negative non-support, thankfully for me it is very easy to push the negativity to the side and focus on what is truly important, my family and loving and supporting my nephew.
It has only been a week and Zach already blends in perfectly, he is extremely polite and respectful. Doesn't bat an eye at the chores he is given and he truly enjoys playing with Bella. If only he didn't have as many clothes as his Aunt Steph ;) We don't have a dresser for him yet so poor Zach has his clothes in garbage bags on the floor of his room. Hopefully I will acquire a decent used dresser soon!
I'm just very proud of Kyle and myself, it feels as though this was meant to be. Kyle started his new job at Erb's Technology, which has put us in a great spot and Zach couldn't have reached out to us for help at a better time.
Having a teenager in the house will be interesting I'm sure, I'm just so thankful for this extra bonding time I get with my nephew before he leaves for the Marines and grows into the amazing man I know he will become.

This is just another thing that has happened that reinstates to me that God puts things in place that are needed exactly when they are needed. Zach is blessed to have you take him in. The love and support around him at this crucial time in his life is so important! I am so proud of you and Kyle for not batting an eye about taking him in. I love you more with every moment you love our nephew like he is your own!!
